The Pink Pony has been invited by Devi Clark the manager of the Impact Hub Scaling Program in London to run a playground for the participants of the Scaling Program during the launch event at Impact Hub King’s Cross on September 29th 2015.

The Scaling Program is a 12 months program hosted by several Impact Hubs across the world designed to support social entrepreneurs in taking their businesses to the next levelwhether through joint venturing, expanding or franchising, with the aim to create positive impact at a larger scale. In the entrepreneurial world we call this scaling, of course.

In this playground we invited the participants to write a letter to their future-selves, the persons they will be after finishing the Scaling Program. After writing the letter with good old English letters, the funniest part began as we asked them to visualise that future in emojis. For this they had to pick a meaningful combination from the selection of emojis available and pose with them in an analogue photo that they posted with their letter in the Scaling Future Mailbox.

Yes, they struck a pose with physical emojis.

This might seem random but it’s not. Emojis have recently become a whole new and meaningful form of language in the digital era that allows people to speak their minds in a creative way. And we thought it would be interesting to play along with them outside of our phones... and see what happens.

The aim of this playground was to encourage the participants of the Scaling Program to imagine the future of their business whilst connecting with each other and their future on various levels: one concrete, one metaphoric and one pictographically abstract.

We’ll reveal all the visions and progress achieved by the participants of the Scaling Program at the round-up event in May 2016. Stay tuned!
