OUR playgrounds
What is A PLAYGROUND?

A playground is a programme where members of a business organisation and members of a local community connect and create something together by playing. As a result of this experience, besides the particular material outcome planned, a meaningful, long-lasting relationship between the organisation and the community will be built.

Each playground is bespoke and co-designed by a Pink Pony team - tailored to tackle each challenge - along with members of the community and the business organisation. Researchers, strategists, space designers and communications experts are some of the professionals that can be part of our creative team.

The playgrounds can take the form of workshops, exhibitions, events, games - or all of the above. At the end of the playground, the business organisation and the community receive a ‘pony’ (pink equivalent of an award) that seals their relationship and proves the good corporate citizenship of the organisations involved.

When you create a playground with us, you can expect:

- A series of creative workshops & play sessions with the members of the business organisation and members of the local community, curated and organised by the creative play team.

- After playing it is time to exhibit the results of the work accomplished together by the members of the organisation and the community - and we do it by putting together a collective exhibition.

- You will receive a video and/or photo session of the whole process as well as the playground and the results.

- A social media campaign, of course! We will proudly share all the work we created together with all our friends and partners in play.

WHY SHOULD YOU PLAY?

Play as we understand it is not exclusively for kids. Play is a very smart, useful and fun way for people of all ages to engage with their environment in unexpected ways; to establish meaningful connections with other people and to come-up with new creative ideas and ways of doing things.

Professor David Gauntlett, expert in Play and Interactions at the University of Bath, mentions, in Making is Connecting, that playing and building things allow individuals and groups to engage more deeply with their environment and with each other. Play leads to a better awareness of another’s situation, helps one to become more creative in solving problems and become more resilient. Participants in a playground will be keener on sustaining relationships between themselves.

Our approach of play is human-centred, collective and hands-on. In our playgrounds we can use all sort of props, from Lego to Polaroids. Everything is valid, as long as it inspires you and stimulates your imagination!
